ROMANS 8:18
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”

CONTEXT
Paul is writing to believers about life in the Spirit and the hope found in Christ.
He acknowledges that following Jesus does not remove suffering from this life.
Instead, he points believers to the future glory God has promised.
The focus is enduring present hardship with eternal hope.
WHAT IT MEANS
“The sufferings of this present time” refers to the hardships believers experience in a fallen world.
“The glory which shall be revealed in us” points to the future God has prepared for His people.
Paul compares what is temporary with what is eternal.
The hope of what is to come far outweighs the suffering of today.
WHAT IT DOES NOT MEAN
This does not mean suffering is insignificant or easy.
It is not a promise that life will become free from hardship.
Paul is not minimizing pain.
He is placing it in the context of God's eternal promises.
WHAT THIS CALLS US TO
Suffering should not cause us to lose hope.
God's promises extend beyond our present circumstances.
Believers are called to remain faithful, even when life is difficult.
Our confidence rests in what God has promised, not in what we currently see.

Where are you looking for hope in the middle of suffering?
Are you viewing your circumstances through today's pain or through God's promises?
PRAYER
Lord, thank You for the hope You have given through Christ.
Help me to trust You when suffering feels heavy.
Keep my eyes fixed on Your eternal promises rather than my present circumstances.
Strengthen my faith as I wait for the glory You have prepared.
