CONTEXT

David is writing to God's people who were discouraged by the apparent success of the wicked.

Instead of envying those who reject God, he calls them to trust the Lord.

Throughout the psalm, David contrasts temporary worldly success with God's righteous rule and lasting faithfulness.

This verse is an invitation to place your life in God's hands.

WHAT IT MEANS

“Commit your way to the Lord” means to entrust your life, plans, and decisions to Him.

“Trust also in Him” calls for confidence in God's character rather than your own understanding.

“And He shall bring it to pass” means God will accomplish His purposes in His perfect timing.

The emphasis is on trusting God, not controlling the outcome.

WHAT IT DOES NOT MEAN

This is not a promise that God will fulfill every personal desire.

It is not teaching prosperity or guaranteed earthly success.

David is not calling believers to trust in outcomes.

He is calling them to trust in the Lord Himself.

WHAT THIS CALLS US TO

Surrender your plans to God instead of holding tightly to them.

Trust Him even when the path is unclear.

Faith grows as we rely on His wisdom rather than our own.

Commit your life to the One who is always faithful.

REFLECTION

Are you trusting God with your plans, or only asking Him to bless them?

What area of your life do you need to surrender to Him?

PRAYER

Lord, teach me to commit every part of my life to You.

Help me to trust Your wisdom above my own understanding.

Give me the humility to surrender my plans and the faith to rest in Your timing.

May my confidence always be found in Your faithfulness.
