CONTEXT
Paul is writing to the church in Corinth about daily decisions.
He addresses issues like food, freedom, and conscience.
The focus is not only what is permitted, but what honors God.
This leads to a principle that applies to all of life.
WHAT IT MEANS
“Whether you eat or drink” points to ordinary, everyday actions.
“Whatever you do” expands this to every area of life.
To live for the glory of God means to reflect His authority and character.
Life is no longer centered on self, but directed toward Him.
WHAT IT DOES NOT MEAN
This does not mean earning God’s approval through performance.
Salvation is by grace through faith, not by works.
It is not about flawless behavior in every moment.
It is about a life oriented toward honoring God.
WHAT THIS CALLS US TO
There is no part of life outside of God’s authority.
Even ordinary actions are to be lived with purpose.
The question is not only what is allowed, but what honors Him.
Following Christ means living with that focus in everything.
